Yes, if the program you use to transfer supports the USB cable.

TI-Connect works with the USB cables.

It may be referring to the file, not the cable. Can you get a screen capture?

FYI: Try sending the .8x files.

For Example: .8xk (apps), .8xp (programs), and .8xg (groups), etc.

.83p files are for the TI-83 (non plus), and that's is possibly why TI-Connect is throwing that error.

Technically *.83? files should still send to an 83+/84+. If they are assembly programs they probably won't RUN, but TI Connect doesn't make that distinction.
