Look, it's simple...

Step 1: LEARN HOW TO PROGRAM PROPERLY
Step 2: Get an idea
Step 3: Program
Step 4: Bug-test
Step 5: Write a read-me
Step 6: Release
Step 7: Wait for the dl's to start tickin'

darkside's right, no one can truly teach you how to make a game, u have to learn 4 yourself. follow his steps to the best of your abilities and i assure you u'll have a pretty decent game soon enough. Especially step #4 :)

Actually, it is possible to teach oneself how, at a basic level, to program by just reading the manual.

Trust me, I did it about 5 years ago.

Edit
I just played around with the code, figured out what each thing did and how it worked, and just started combining stuff.

And look where that got me! LOL

There's not really an alternative. I taught myself a lot of programming stuff, but to get a real understanding of int, your going to have to do some reading.

I learned most of what I know from the reading.
