First off Win8x in not a real OS, as well as Mirage and Ion... But Mirage is your best bet...

Those are all shells, not OS's. THere's a differencee, but that's not what matters. What matters is that Win8x is in BASIC (no offense)and cannot therefore run programs from within itself. Mirage and ION, however, can. Use one of those, and, like XX said, Mirage is your best bet.

My windows can run programs from within itself aslong as you have them unarchived and edit the APM file accordingly. Nowhere near as good as Mirage though.

Mirage OS is the best OS for the TI 83's or TI84's

Windows 83 XP is good for what it is and works fairly fast but Mirage is better. (This is my opinion of my own OS, lol)
