wnh11 Marine Posted: 27 Feb 2005 08:53 GMT Total Posts: 24 | Ti Connect had been working fine for my ti-89 titanium until recently. It recognizes the calculator (I can select the device with no problems), but when I open device explorer or device info, the program crashes. I can't make a backup, and I can't update my os. When I try to send a file, I get an error message that says "Unable to send file x.89z". I've tried reinstalling it, downloading it again, and installing 1.5 beta. I am using WinXP, if that helps.

JcCorp Probe Posted: 27 Feb 2005 10:18 GMT Total Posts: Edit | You probably should reinstall the USB driver. Put in the TI-Connect CD (hopefully you have it) and put in the USB link. Then click yes if it tells you that the software needs to be installed. |

TI Freak Probe Posted: 28 Feb 2005 12:30 GMT Total Posts: Edit | lol. I did that, and they sent me a new 89!
Do you have any other calcs, or maybe you could borrow someone elses calc, like an 83+, and see if you can get it to work. I had problems that sometimes it worked fine, but sometimes I had to find a calc that it would communicate with, and then after that it worked fine again for a while... |
wnh11 Marine Posted: 28 Feb 2005 17:40 GMT Total Posts: 24 | I sent an email to Ti, and am waiting for a response. Don't thing I'll get any free gifts, though :img19:. I tried connecting an 83, and still had the same problem. |

wnh11 Marine Posted: 1 Mar 2005 05:52 GMT Total Posts: 24 | I scanned my comp and didn't find anything, and no other programs are behaving strangely, so I probably don't have a virus. I could try forcing my calc into the reboot screen, then sending the OS without using TI SendTo (I read something about doing this on TI's website). I know I would lose the flash apps if I did this, but what about the archive? |
TI Freak Probe Posted: 1 Mar 2005 06:11 GMT Total Posts: Edit | You will lose all info on the calc, so you need to back it up. |
wnh11 Marine Posted: 1 Mar 2005 06:14 GMT Total Posts: 24 | OK, I guess I shouldn't try updating my OS, because I cant make a backup! |
Exotic Probe Posted: 14 Mar 2005 20:29 GMT Total Posts: 1 | yeah, i'm having this problem with mine also, so the solution is to often communicate with other calculators right? but somehow I got it to work, I plugged it in another usb port, then back in the original port. It transferred two files sucessfully so try that.

HAving a Titanium is kinda harder than having a normal 89, it has too many problems thus far (Game incompatibility, THIS, Vti not working with it, ect.)
I am going to send an E-mail to them and see what pops up, this was only yesterday when i notcied i couldnt send files to/from computer... I hope its not permanent, because it is going to injure my interest in becoming a programmer for the 89. |
