ya think? I think theta14 is the fastest filling topic there is...

If I come up with something on that sidescrolling thing, I will let you know.

What do you want to scroll down the sides? If you give me specifics, I can try and figure out something, be it assembly or BASIC.

EDIT: Wow, i am bad at spelling

I want to have a level (each level is a space on the board) to be sidescrolling... or maybe I can get ahold of Keven and ask him how he did the scrolling on DLQ

I don't know. I never looked at it. And I have looked at Kevin's code before, it is extremely confusing, because I don't know which variables he is using for what, so that probably wouldn't work either.

If you store the two sides into strings and use the sub( command, that'd work, but it would be slow.

okay i decided to drop the side scrolling thing. The game will come in 2 virsions, plain ascii graphics, and souped up special font graphics!. the only problem, you'll have to use Omnicalc.

Didn't say you couldn't, but you can have even more on the 89, since it has a ton more memory to play with... :)

Well... T14 is coming... The battle system had a HUGE bug with MP and HP... so I eliminated those... now all you have is LF... LF stands for Life Force, so when you get hit, when you use magic, or when you use breaker attacks you lose LF. Xero Xcape R&R (Relived and Rembered) is going great. I have a small sprite routine, and a small map routine done. And I've decided all further programming will be on calc for the 89 and the 83+... By the way, Is there a good guide to programming on the CASIO CFX?

Hmm, that would be really long to explain, really really really long (wondering if there is a post lenght limit on calcgames.org forums). This is because all four scrolling direction But for the vertical scrolling directions need their own code. Vertical scrolling is easier to make (well, maybe not easy for everyone). If you use the RPG starter kit you have to store the next map into a different string, merge it with the current map and scroll it using the sub( command. The horizontal scrolling is extremly hard to make and to explain because of the homescreen word-wrap. With the RPG starter kit I am afraid that the horizontal scrolling will be impossible, but I have a small idea. I am busy working on Diortem right now but if I can I will try to post a link to a modified version of RPG starter kit with scrolling.

EDIT: It will be pure basic, with no ASM libs

If you want, modify it and resend it to calcgames, with both our names on it. That way, everyone can see it. :)

You might put it in a seperate folder, though, so they can have the 2 different versions to play with.

Well... Not really. I helped an up and coming programmer with a BASIC black jack game. And I am trying to catch the 89 virsion up to speed. Also I'm trying to learn how to program for 'v this v'so... The Battle system is almost done though

*this just in!!!* since my CASIO is about 2 years to early... there is no Getkey command... so no games from me!

*In other news.* I will restart programming T14 as soon as I get home... since I have a 3 day weekend, the 89 virsion should be uploaded on monday to the projects menu
