well, first you need the software to do so.

depending on your Computer's OS, there area number of emulators you can use to emulate a calculator, or you could download TI-Graphlink (which includes the ability to program on your computer)

basically, you're better off using the calc... you will get used to the keys eventually :)

im having a problem with the TI-Graph Link. My computer is too advanced for it to run on it. Is there an updated version for Windows XP cause there is only for windows 98 and 95

XP SHOULD be able to emulate the program under the conditions of an 95/98 comp... just right click and look for a menu...

XP ought to run TI-GraphLink just fine. You can't use it for sending files to the calculator; the 84+'s USB port must be used with TI Connect.

Edit
TI-Graphlink will not run under 2000, or XP, because those operating systems don't use or support DOS in a way that TI-Graphlink needs to use it. I have 2000 and it refuses to use it, so I use my laptop, which has 98 on it...Anyone running xp is forced to use TI-Connect...

Odd that I've used Graphlink for a few years on XP (SP1, 2, and before there was one) with no problems at all.

I don't know what you're talking about TI Freak, GraphLink doesn't use DOS at all... Now, it *DOES* need direct access to the COM ports, which is why TI Connect installs that special service for it... But it most certainly does work.

Hmm, I have tried to install on said systems, and it didn't work. Bah, must be my bad luck with computers... Heck, I know it is if I can blow out 2 harddrives in 24 hours... Sometimes, I hate technology... or it hates me...

Using Graph Link in WinXP is apparently a hit or miss proposition. I'm told this is relevant:

Actually, it did that to me too. I tryed again, and it worked. Of course, I haven't touched my 83+ in forever (89T is sooo much nicer in Trig).

I know I uploaded to Win2000, and it would not work, said it needed some kind of file that win2000 did not support. I asked a guy about it, and he said it had to do with Dos, or the lack there of...

yeah, thats the big thing about XP... it doesnt run off of DOS, like the 9x series did, but it can use DOS if it needs to... thats why when you go to a site that shows you your OS version, it tells you that you have NT...(6.x i think, but im probably wrong on that one...)
