ok i just started this calc stuff but i see Ti-freaks website and the games i see are compatible for the ti 83 and ti 83 +, if i bought a ti 84 + (maybe silver edition) then are the ti-83+ games compatible with ti-84+?

83+ games are indeed compatible with the 84+. and the 84+se. thank you for asking a valid question, unlike most other people who come to this site.

If I remember right, TI said that the 83 and 83+ would be bacwards compatible and stuff. Ha, not so.

Uhh, the 83+ *is* back-compat with the 83 for all "legitimate" stuff the 83 has -- which is just BASIC. The 83 doesn't have *official* ASM support, so ... yeah.

So if I put a command into one of my 83+ programs that has it unarchive a variable, it'll work on the 83?

The 83+ is compatible with the 83, not the other way around...
