SimbaTLK1 Probe Posted: 14 Sep 2005 14:37 GMT Total Posts: 6 | Hi everyone, I'm new here to calcgames.org. So, first off, Hello everone :) Don't worry, I'm not going to ask you how to load mario on my new TI-84 Plus Silver. :-P I do however have a TI-84 Plus Silver, and occationally, when uploading certain apps, that should work for the 83/84, I get the error in TIDeviceExplorer "USB communication error: The operating system of the devices does not support the version of the variable being setnt (8C080030). An example of this error is caused when trying to load "Chopper" http://www.ticalc.org/pub/83plus/asm/games/chopper.zip (either version) onto the calculator.
In addition, I have seen Orzunioid levels as .8xp files, and I'm curious as to how this is done. In my experience with trying to transfer them either to the Archive or the PC, though they normally show up as just the program name, (ex. ABC) when trying to manipulate the location of the program, is shows up as "prgmABCrandM(randM(randM(randM(randM(". Because of these weird randM( commands, it can't be saved, moved or anything.
Thanks to everyone for all your help. :blink_a:

I think that you can rename them by right clicking on them and selecting properties. there should be a TI file propertys tab or somthing similer. |
SimbaTLK1 Probe Posted: 14 Sep 2005 20:15 GMT Total Posts: 6 | No, that doesn't work. It just returns the same error message over and over again. In TIDeviceExplorer there is no option for rename, but when you transfer it, it asks for a new name, yet it still doesnt work. I dont belive there is a rename feature on the calculator, but even still, the calc can't do anything with this program. I even tried grouping it, but that doesnt work. It can't be archived, moved, or grouped. Like I said, i've seen downloadable levels that work just fine, that are in .8xp format. They can be archived, moved, and trasnfered perfectly. So, my question is, how were these people able to do this?
P.S. I'm suprised at the lack of replys :img21: |

I think you must have misunderstood me. The problem file is ON the calculator, not on the computer. I want to get it TO the computer. |

Even when you rename it as its being transfered to the computer, it still will not transfer, regrardless of inputting a valid file name.
Believe me, if it was that simple, i'd have tried it allready.
