Well, if you just got it, and it is brand new, it has an os. If you mean a shell, look in the Misc>shells above on the navigation bar. Just read the read me for installing.

And games can be found by selecting the Games tab and then TI-89.

Most games can be run by pressing 2nd and - to bring up the variable menu, then select the program you want to run, and press ) to close parenthesis (you should check the files readme to see if anything needs to be typed within the parenthesis) and press enter, that should load the game.

Ok, when you turn on your calc, does it come up with a screen that has 6 options lined up at the top, with some words/numbers on the bottom, followed by two shortly spaced lines above that?

Hmm, that is odd... See about selecting the program, does it come up with the popup window when you press those buttons?

to run games you want to go go to the home screen. this can be done by pressing the home key or selecting the home icon from the apps desktop (picture above)then go to the var-link and select the program to run and it's name will be pasted into the home screen entry line.

Select the Home option, see if that gives you a screen that I previously described. Being a titanium, I am not totally sure...

You CANNOT put AMS < 3.00 on an 89Ti. You're probably using an old hw3patch. We know our version is old but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. I think the FAQ entry on hw3patch links to a newer version.
