Jonny23451 Ultralisk Posted: 14 Oct 2005 22:38 GMT Total Posts: 214 | Wow...I didn't know that, and I'm a programmer. How ironic. Anyways, it depends what calculator you send it too, such as i don't think you can transfer 84+'s to like, 89's. They have different file types I believe. I haven't touched a program in ages on my computer, so I realy am not sure, but I think tha'ts the case. |
Andy Administrator Posted: 15 Oct 2005 08:03 GMT Total Posts: 939 | Everything on the calculator is a variable, except for Apps... They're just highly specialized types of variables... There's a reason it's called the VAT (variable allocation table)! :) |

Ray Kremer Ultralisk Posted: 17 Oct 2005 11:29 GMT Total Posts: 310 | Terminology gets abused on the calculator a lot. Anywhere else "program" and "application" would mean the same thing. "File" would be the more familiar term for what the calculator treats as "variable". I can see what this would be less clear on the 83 family, but if you look at the 85/86 and the 89 family, all types of files have the same naming convention (8 char max, must start with letter), so you can see why all are treated similarly by the calculator's file system whether a program, a real number, a matrix, or a string. |
