ok i am having major problems with TI Connect connecting to my calculater. It worked once and never worked again.
Steps i do:
1. Turn on Computer
2. Log in
3. Plug in calc with USB ( i turn it on of course )
4. Start TI Connect
5. I press connect calc but it doesnt read the USB.

It worked once before and never again, i have tried reinstalling the program and repairing it but nothing works.

Is there any other program that connects to your calculator? and if so what is it?

Or could someone give me some tips or troubleshooting ideas to fix this problem

Thanks,
Honeo

Dumb question... your calc was turned on, right? Just makin' sure...

Anyways, what kind of calculator do you have? It would be a bit more helpful if we had that information.

What cable are you using? (Direct usb to usb, or the usb silver cable?)

If it is the direct, I don't know what to tell you except get a silver cable. If it is the silver... shoot it. no, don't... :P

Only solution I've heard is to swtich to the "silverlink" USB-to-I/O port cable. I don't know what causes this "works once then never again" problem with TI Connect and the USB/mini-USB cable but people report it all the time.

Everybody should probably e-mail TI and complain.

I emailed TI on this a long time back, we bounced back and forth for a month or so, and they sent me a silverlink free of charge, no shipping, no nothing, I told them it worked, and they said to keep it, and they will keep my results in mind while they work on it (which there hasn't been any updates to TI-Connect that I see)

You know what i found wrong with mine? There was a piece of lead jammed in the USB place. It guess, it was jammed so badly that when I like, kept jamming it into the USB area, it kept chipping away at the inside...yeah. After like 50 tires, I found out there was a piece of lead in it. How funny. You could've damaged the inside of the USB cord...otherwise just reinstall the USB cord. EH? *CANADIANS SUCK!*

He could mean just pencil lead... which ISN'T lead.

>>>EH? *CANADIANS SUCK!*<<<

I take offense to that as being half-French Canadian and having gone to the country twice and loving it. :img03:
