its something someone does to keep a thread from sinking into inactiveness, and keeping it at the top. Usually it doesn't happen for a few days, due to the slow response nature of message boards.

I hear from people who get this error all the time, but I still don't know what causes it.

Go yell at TI, not us. It's a problem with their calculator and linking program, not a game.

(Sorry, I'm in a VERY BAD mood right now, but the point stands -- it's just some TI piece of -- and if I find any mod that removes that it'll be your head)

No, or at least I don't. This is a semi-infrequent error usually resulting form either your cord being unplugged or TI-connect not wanting to link to your calculator. When I sya it doesn't want to, i mean it has a bug, not that it actually has feelings and just sometimes says "I don't want to", although it certainly seems like that sometimes.

You might try rebooting your computer.

i've had this problem too, but i've just had to unplug the calc, close TI Connect, and then just plug it back in. also, make sure that windows specifically recognizes the device. if it comes up with the found new hardware wizard when you plug the calc in, just unplug it and plug it back in. if it comes up again, plug it into a different USB port. (for some reason my computer doesn't recognize it on one of the ports...)

Windows *won't* recognize it the first time you plug it into a port. You have to go through the wizard for every port. If you abort the wizard, it won't work for that port. The wizard should find the driver right off the bat so just let it go.

Oh, yeah, that works too, but i'm lazy, so I'd rather just unplug it and plug it back in.

I use the two USB prots on the front of my computer, though, so it is really easy. (And I forgot where I put my TI Connect CD to install the drivers...)

1.6, and I know I can just download it, but I just don't really want to, and I'll find the CD someday... (Besides, it's not like it's a big deal.)
