victora Probe Posted: 29 Mar 2006 09:54 GMT Total Posts: 1 | I got my calculator back from a friend & now the number keys are sticky, they are hard to press down. I believe something got spilt on it, but am unsure.
Is there a way to take the case apart to clean the inside? Should I send it in or what?
Thanks |

Rub the underside of the keys with a dry cloth (a cloth diaper is the best) and carefully do the same on the place where the keys meet the chip. Then put it back together (make sure you've got the keys on right) and enjoy.

Naturally, you'd have to be very careful as to temperature, and you should not use much soap, but it is possible. However, you'd have to wait for a long time to let it dry completely. Also, you'd have to put it in the pocket of something so that it doesn't hit anything in there.
I don't suggest his, but I have seen it done (twice , actually), and wanted to put it out there. Kinda cool, actually. |

calcprogrammer1 Probe Posted: 30 Mar 2006 13:55 GMT Total Posts: 1 | It would probably be possible to clean yourself, but if the 89 is anything like my 84, it won't have normal screws and you might have a hard time removing them if you don't have the right kind of screw driver. |
