You have to compile it if you want to send it to your calculator. And for that you need TASM, DevPac8x, and Zilog Developer Studio. I would suggest actually playing the game to get money if you want it that badly.

Zilog Developer Studio? Tasm? Devpac8x? Useless, slow, and schizophrenic. Use Notepad, Spencer's Assembler, and Wabbitsign. They can be found on www.revsoft.org/phpBB2.

Sure, sure. If you want to be a wimp and have a program do everything for you, go ahead. Real men use text editors and command-line prompts, though. :D

Which is what they do. Your suggestion is wimpier by your own definition. My combination is smaller, faster, and uses way cooler command line stuff.

IDE != command prompt. I mean typing in "tasm -i -b blah.z80" into DOS and watching as TASM spews out 1000 errors in your face. That's how you really do it.

Program do everything for you? All it does is not shît itself whenever you create a z80 file that doesn't match it's exact ridiculous format.

Yeah, exactly. That's how you learn to program well: by mkaing everything perfect and manually fixing every error thrown at you by the compiler.

You have to manually fix the errors in Spasm too. You just don't need at least 2 linebreaks after the last end and other random things like that.

@3fg: I'm not trying to say spencer's assembler is bad. I haven't even tried it, in fact, becuase i haven't programmed in assembly for so long, but my point is that I prefer to use command-line prompts and text editors because I think it gives you a good feel for how things work, and the perfection it demands from you is good training. That's not to say your code must always be the best, fastest, meanest, leanest code around, but it does help you from accidentally programming errors into your code, like so many people tend to do nowadays. It also gives you greater respect for the people who write low-level code to make things easier for your life. A trait, IMHO, that is very important when programming. And in life in general.

You DO use a text editor and command line, Spencer's is a replacement for tasm. It still gives you all the benefits only faster and less psychotically.

The bugs I was referring to are bugs in the programming, it doesn't fix those for you. Spencer's assembler has no known bugs PLUS you can include a bitmap (black and white of course) using #include.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I get it. The way you were describing it it sounded like a full-on IDE. Damn , I feel like an idiot now.
