They look really inspired by Wizards, and quick look through the readme says they were. The game is turn-based, so you don't control your SCVs, but you can still build, harvest, and I haven't gotten to attacking yet. The tech tree is in place. Maps are randomly generated (thumbs up!). The way the battles are set up creatively recreates the way you play in SC (gotta find a building before you can attack it). It's hard to kill buildings just storming through with marines, but sieging destorys the buildings pretty well, and nuking, though hard to do without getting the ghost killed, utterly pwns. A good game, but some people might not like the fact that units are rather abstract.

no, this game's menu graphics werent based off of wizards, but they are uncanaly simalar. what i said in the read me is a "new and interesting way to save your data for multiple games, the same method i use for Wizards".
i just fixed alot of bugs. if you are using the old version, 1.2 or 1.1, try destroying a refinery. see what happens? fun lol
oh, and about the contrast: you can use Y= and GRAPH on the in-game main menu to change it. Y= goes down, and GRAPH up.
personally, i love the nuc attack. its an instant k.o. lol. but you must upgrade the ghost to make it insured.
btw, protoss version will be 1 player only. so you finally get the AI to fight against.
Later days

Posted: 18 May 2006 20:50 GMT Total Posts: 542 | hmmm, yes, that scv issue. if you nuc, the command center should instantly destroy. if you storm, it will only kill the scvs except one. that is b/c if the other player has no minerals when you attack, then you could ezly take out any way for them to build early on, and i wasnt making this game for the ability to rush. so they still *technically* have a chance to come back, even though it is slim to none.
Do you have any idea how much data i would need in order to make the units visible on the map?!?!?! that is extra memory up the wazoo. but i'll make you a deal. if you can wish it be, for xLib to not only read archived pics, but also archived matricies, i will promiss a game with units on the map. but as of now... protoss just uses pics of them. think of the battles in the new protoss version as "advanced Wars" for the GBA. its cool like that. which is especially why i like terran, for there are so many ways to attack. you must realize this: nucs may take out buildings, but take time and money. storming may kill units, and are cheap, but have a hard time destroying buildings. however, siege is just in between, it will destory buildins and units BUT, just like in real SC, the overall team defence is very low considering siege tanks cant move and the infantry must protect the tanks or attack. just wait. protoss will kick major arsch. aufweidersprechen.

and i could help you with the zerg version if you want! i am familiar (and quite skilled) with xlib. so i could make it or help you with it if youd like.

Posted: 19 May 2006 13:07 GMT Total Posts: 542 | The new v1.3 is up on calcgames now, so dl if you want the fixes.
The major problem i have in both zerg and protoss is the fact of positioning of buildings: protoss have restictions due to pylon power grid, and zerg is restricted to creep. it is almost impossible for me to implament those ideas into the game with memory restictions. maybe in college i wont get lazy and i'll learn asm. then i'll learn how to turn it into a flach app... and that would give me endless options. but as of rite now... im a BASIC guy, so i deal with what i have. hey, if anyone REALLY wants to help, my only problem is the srites. i just dont like the ones i've drawn. if you could get me or give me reeeeeeally good 'toss and zerg sprites, then i'll give you credit.
my major idea in mind is a colosal idea. here it is: you can dl 3 separate games (terran, zerg, protoss). you will then have all three pics for each race archived. then you will link up with a friend. then you decide "which race do i want to be?", and you will unarchive that race's game, and play it. your opponent will choose whichever one they want to. so technically, you dont need all the programms if you just want to use protoss all the time, but you will need the archived pic of zerg if you are to battle a zerg opponent. this is the best idea i think there is. and its very plausable.... now i just need to learn how LINKING works in basic games. i know you use SEND( and Getcalc options and stuff like that, but i dont understand how that works. but w/e, that will be in like... 4 or so monthts... i dont need to worry now.

And for linking, you don't need Send( if you are going to use get calc.

edit: too late. im done ill try to upload it today but it might take a while to approve. until then...

yeah, im looking for 8x8 sprites for the buildings, and 16x16 for the people. it would be ALOT ezr for me if you just email me at: seeleleid@hotmail.com dont use my other one..which is @sbcglobal.net, cuz i cant recieve files through that.
i thought about archiving all the matrxies, and unarchiving when needed, like when i need to draw the map, but that would waste sooo much time, and i dont think you want to go through that wait. the good new is that protoss uses 8x8 matrixies instead of the 10x10. so it uses 400k less each matrix, and thats more room for AI.

Do you think i sould make a "end turn" to the main menu also. i got a couple emails about that topic, so it seems to be a relitive topic. cuz i guess they're tired of going to the "your map" everytime that they want to do end their turn. but i put it there b/c that is where most of the actoin takes place. but... w/e
