Hey i just bought a new TI-89 Titanium and im having trouble with it. I bought it from my ALG2 class for next year but it turns it wont let me do eve the most basic things. It wont let me use the variable "x" or any other variables that i need in a problem like (x^3 + 5x - 7). I have to use "y" and "t" instead. My "z" and "x" wont work. Is there any way to make this work? Am i in some wrong mode? Please post specific instructions im a TI scrub and enw to it. I read all the FAQ's and Tutroails and manuals and its not helping me a bit. thanks..

A TI-89T is rather overkill for Algebra2

What are you using the variables for? I assume you have experience using an 83+ or similar?

it doesn't let you store to x and z? do you have programs or functions named x and z, perchance?
