I get an "incompatible file type" error!
Answer:
This means that you are trying to send a file to your calculator which is not compatible with it. Most users will try to simply send the .zip file that they download from this site to their calculator.

.Zip files are not calculator files!

They are archive files which contain one or more files that should be compatible with your calculator. They need to be "unzipped" or "extracted." For most new operating systems, such a tool should be built in. For older Windows operating systems, download winzip.

For complete instructions on how to send files to your calculator, visit our visual tutorial here (TI-83+/84+ specific, but the general idea of it can be applied to other calculators).

Why doesn't my USB link work?
Answer:
USB links need specific software to work properly. When you plug it into your computer, you may get a message saying that it needs the correct software. Simply place your TI-Connect CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive when you get the message and follow any instructions that the message gives you.

TI-Connect is telling me that I can't send my Mario level file to/from the calculator! What do I do?
Answer:
Super Mario Editor allows you to create program files with incompatable characters in their names. TI-Connect cannot handle these, and thusly tells you so. If you do get such an error, simply attempt to rename the file. If that doesn't work, then there is simply no way to move that file.
