New Engine zkostik Whoah, this looks very cool. It kinda reminds me of the other engine I've seen for 89 which was intended to pull out a Quake type game, though development seemed to stop. New Engine zkostik Eh, those guys who made the above mentioned games seem to have abandoned the calc scene. I guess they're in college or something. I hope moitib will at least keep working on his program, you learn as you go, maybe he'll be able to pull off some good stuff along with decent fps. And did you release the source btw, if not then I don't know what he's complaining about. New Engine zkostik He pointed those out as marvels of french programming. I don't know how he could say something about your code since you didn't release it, but oh well. New Engine moitib Actually, the frame rate depends on what the engine displays : make it display 10 polygons and it will be very fast... With a large scene it is slower, of course. I have implemented clipping so it slows a bit the program, but now i use matrix to rotate the points so i have gained some speed. 15 May 2003, 14:44 GMT

New Engine moitib Sometimes it displays about 100 triangles with more than 15 fps... But, despite of pure speed, my problem in the future will be to have a constant frame rate during the game... 16 May 2003, 04:27 GMT

New Engine Digital Moitib, I have a suggestion about Space Dementia for you if you still plan on "developing" it. Sometimes it can be difficult to tell the distance of an asteroid/kamakazi. I think that if you added a grayscale feature to have the far objects light gray, mid-distant dark gray, and the closest ones black. 16 May 2003, 13:34 GMT

New Engine Barrett constant framerate shouldn't be a problem.... as long as slowest is at least 60% fastest it should be fine... Look at single player tankers... make a map where all 10 opponents are right next to you, drive around to see how slow it goes, then hold down 2nd to kill all opponents and look at the difference... that's probably 65% difference but isn't much of a problem --- -Barrett A 16 May 2003, 18:52 GMT

I could probably ameliorate it with the technics i am using on the new engine. At the moment, i am not working anymore on it. >Barrett I'll see.
