My inet is still dead despite comcast's promise to fix it over weekend, who knows when it'll be back up. Space Dementia II out! Digital The whole thread didn't dissapear, I moved it here ;) I saw your post and wrote up the news article. Sorry I should have said something about you. I have an 89 and V200 so I tested them. The 89 runs at a slower frame rate (HW1) but has better response on the controls. Based on the frame rates I judge that although the proc in the V200 is 12 MHz, not 10 MHz, it runs ~140% faster. I figured this out with ti-bench before anyway. I am in school, college that is, privelegde of graduating :). Anyways, I'll test it sometime soon and I'll share my framerate then. Space Dementia II out! Digital When you both start shooting or whatever, the frame rate will slow down to the speed of the slower calc which is about 4 fps on the HW1, the game is still wuite playable even at that rate. I've been able to peak at 16 fps on my V200. 3 Sep 2003, 07:42 GMT

Space Dementia II out! moitib Hi guys. The two calcs are synchronized between every frame so if the calcs doesn't have the same capabilities (like freq difference bettween HW1 & HW2) the speed is the speed of the slower calc. So the speed will be the same with one HW1 & one HW2 and between two HW1. Else i've got to say i inspired a bit from Tankers for the multiplayer thing. 6 Sep 2003, 16:30 GMT

Space Dementia II out! zkostik yep, i've tried it but only on VTI because i don't have two 68k calcs and my VTI to calc link doens't work for some reason. The game looks very impressive. Although 4-5 FPS seems sufficient, a few more would make it more playable. Space Dementia II out! Digital VTI is not very optimised so the speeds are about 45% of what they actually should be Z. BullFrog: I wish I had two WH2 calcs, because my HW1 89 slows it down to ~3 or 4 fps. [/cite] That would be very difficult to do. At each frame, one calc has to get information from the other to know how the other ship moves... The exchange of information must be synchronized... If you use a HW1 and an HW2, the HW2 waits a bit at each frame, but if you try to display 2 frames on the HW2 without exchanging information between, it is the HW1 which will have to wait... 26 Sep 2003, 15:48 GMT

Just a thought, I'm not trying to tell you how to program, just want to see if there is a better way to do it. Space Dementia II out! Digital I was thinking in a multi process kind of way. I forgot that this is not native on the 68k series (IIRC). If you want to do something like that. test each calc to see what "speed" they are running at and bassed on that, have exchanges "skipped" every so often to get the frame rate up. The idea is analogous to a slanted line drawn digitally, ie on an LCD w/ anti-aliasing 3 Oct 2003, 15:10 GMT
