Newsletter Information | Jayhawk |
I'm going to try to keep this brief, but I've received a number of questions about submitting to the newsletter.
We'll accept just about anything as long as it's related to calculators. This includes the following:
* Opinions - If you have an opinion you'd like to voice, please submit it. Longer articles may be just included in the newsletter as a seperate column while shorter ones are likely to be treated as letters to the editor.
* Reviews - If you'd like to review a game or program, you may submit your review. We're not looking for one paragraph reviews of games. We would prefer a few paragraphs describing the game in detail along with an opinion. This may differ from how other sites expect reviews. Opinions are a large part of any review, but a description of what the game or program does is very beneficial to any readers. You may include screenshots along with reviews.
* Questions - If you have a question about the TI community or about your calculator, write it in. We can't include every question like "How do I get games on my calculator?" but if your question is original or interesting, it'll get included along with the best answer we can find.
* Other stuff - If you'd like to submit something but it doesn't fit in to any of these categories, that's okay. As long as it's well-written and on the topic of calculators, send it in.
With all these topics, please try to use good spelling and proper grammar. We're trying our best to give this newsletter a professional appearance and rely on our contributors to do the same. While we will not edit for content, we reserve the right to correct grammar and spelling errors in user-submitted content as necessary.
Please try to submit content for the newsletter by the 25th of the previous month. February's newsletter will hopefully be mailed on February 1. This means you'll need to get any submissions in by January 25. It's not a hard deadline; we may include some things that get mailed after the deadline if necessary. Just know, if you submit content after the deadline, it's not guaranteed to be reviewed before the newsletter is mailed. We may postpone reviewing it until this next month. This deadline gives us time to organize and prepare the newsletter before it is mailed.
We, the CalcGames staff, look forward to working together with the readers of this site in producing the best newsletter the community has to offer. |
