Well I've finally made a website and just thought I'd let you guys know. It is www.calculatorprogramming.com (I made the domain name before I decided on calcproductions, oh well).

If you look at it you will see it is very basic but mainly because I have made the entire site out of just my HTML knowledge and notepad, no WYSIWYGs.

Feel free to critique it and post, pm, or e-mail me with any problems or suggestions you have on it.

Also I already have several of the web pages re-done in Macromedia Flash, it will only be a matter of time before I upload my new Flash version of the website (which looks a whole lot cooler).

What makes websites created in notepad so bad? This website's design (CalcG.org) was created in a textarea box, 10 rows by 40 columns, and the majority of the code was written in wordpad.

:)

Really? Cool. But what about the drop-down menus. I'm guessing that was one of the exceptions.

I'd like to point this out to you:
"The programs that can be made with these calculators are also capable of graphical interfaces as they each have a black and white LED screen."

I'm pretty sure you mean LCD.

What about the TI-81 and TI-80 (in that order)?

Well I wasn't sure but do the 80 and 81 even have linking capabalities? I figured if the calculator couldn't link, It wouldn't matter what information was on my site because it would be such a old calculator and because he or she wouldn't be able to transfer anything to their calculator.

Now are the 82s able to link? I put them on there but I didn't know if they could. Same for the 86. Although both of these calculators have programming capabalities similiar to the 84s and 83s so there is still some purpose in keeping them.

Anyways I may put them on there as long as I can find a picture. But if I start filling in the holes I would rather know the whole series and know specifically which ones were compatable with the 84 (programming wise).

Both still had programming capabilities. Back then, you would type a program into the calc (neither had decent functions for programming, so programs were short enough).

Yes, the TI-82 can link. The TI-85 is like an older 86, and both can link. The 73, 83 (not +) 92, 92+, and Voyage 200 can also link.

Let's see if I can remember correctly... The 83+ and SE are compatible with the 84 family except for OpenLib(, ExecLib, and the time functions. The 83 has no Archive/Unarchive functions. The 82 doesn't have strings or automatic function parenthesis. I've never used an 80, but the 81 just sucks.

If you want to actually know things, visit this page, courtesy of ticalc.org.

The Voyage 200 is much better than either 84 calcs. Only its interface and keymapping make it different from the TI-89 Titanium, I believe.

Why would you use one website to advertise for yours? I think Barrett should delete this thread ASAP.

Well for one I'm going to be able to post things and edit them however I want. Plus I'm going to be adding certain things that you can't at CalcG. And also I can change the looks of the entire site.

The only thing that should be deleted is your post.

If calc websites were in serious competition with each other like you suggest, blahblah, ticalc.org wouldn't have a direct link to CalcGames (no, they actually haven't changed it to CalcG). All of the big sites are fairly unique in services and community.

What do you plan to add that CalcG lacks, calcproductions?

not to much but you guys do need a tutorial section, I noticed under windows programs you have one, but you need something more fitting. Plus I would change the way the programs are set up for downloading. It will mainly be for fun and for practicing my HTML. I don't plan on giving anyone competition.
