Total Posts: 7 | Alright, so I'm trying to install programs into my calculator, but I can't seem to do that. I downloaded TI-Connect, but still, nothing. Also, I'm getting confused on what to install on my computer to succesfully do all of this. I just recently got this. |

Total Posts: 583 | did you plug in your calculator already? before installing TI connect, if so windows will freak out and youll have to wait a little while before trying again.
uninstall and reinstall TIconnect then download a game (goto games, your calculator type, if its ti84, i recommend my game, escape! because it has a nice tutorial for you and tells you how to install ti connect, move games into the calc, and archive, unarchive them.)
and then plug in your calculator, windows should get the driver from ticonnect. if not, then youll have to wait for windows to dump the driver before you start again.

Total Posts: 210 | MirageOS is for your calculator, not your computer, It wouldn't make sending programs any easier.

Total Posts: 7 | it did but now another dang problem. Everytime i try to install a program, there is unsufficient memory. i deleted a lot of apps (the ones for different languages), so im very sure that i have enough memory. what now?

Total Posts: 210 | Now, try archiving everything you put on your calculator. If you deleted apps, y6ou should have free Archive, not RAM.

Total Posts: 583 | it only frees up some (very few bytes) of RAM when you delete archived programs. Applications are just... special.

i was agreeing with you and adding an acception, which is where HE got mixed up. with deleting archived stuff.

Just so you know, all variables, programs, apps, appvars, groupfiles, lists, matrices, etc. take RAM. They are all stored in the VAT in some way, and each of the above item takes a small amount of RAM in some form or another.

VAT is an acronym for Variable Allocation Table. What it actually is is a large chunk of RAM holding the attributes of every variable on the calculator. The VAT's size is constantly in flux: when you create a variable, the VAT's size is instantly increased to accomodate the new entry. When variables are deleted, the VAT shrinks as the entries for those variables are removed.
The VAT starts immediately before the end of the hardware stack and is divided into two parts. The first part holds the names of real, complex, matrix, picture, GDB, and equation type variables. This region starts immediately after the Hardware Stack at the fixed address SymTable.
The second part holds programs, lists, groups, and AppVars. The beginning is stored in the variable (ProgPtr) and ends at (PTemp)+1.

P.S.
Sad thing was it took five tries to finally get it right. Then the first result that looked correct was on the 4th page.
