How can I calculate with complex matrix?
I have TI-84 Plus and i need to calculate, for example:

A=
[3-2i 5+i 2-4i]
[7-i -2i -3-7i]
[0.2-i 0 1-0.1i]

Inverse [A]

or [A]*[B]

I had no problems with HP49g+, but i cant figure it out on TI, I cant enter complex number in matrix...

Pls help, tnx!

Ahh. I've never tried that before and now I'm infuriated. Ahh Scream at the world. Now I've joined you and wish to have answer. I'm sorry to say this but you may just have to give up making it that easy on your self. You might just have to it the hard way like this. I guess that there's now way. I guess that even I'm going to have to wait for an admin to come by here and answer this question. I'd still say that there might be a way though.

Did you change the mode from "Real" to "a+bi"?

When I did it still said 'Error Data Type'. I also tried the re^THETA i mode. Still doesn't work.

I don't think the TI-83 family supports complex matrices. It does, however, do complex lists, if I remember correctly from my assembly days.

Yeah but that doesn't really help if you wish to convert list to matrix. It almost works. And you are correct I believe I can't get it to complex Matrices. Lists yes it does them very easily. I had never really found the need to do a complex matrix before so i wonder what up was doing in what math class. So oh well, just one more thing that my calc can't do. AHHHH.

You're a foo, you foo. Matrices are just shortcuttish; all you need is addressable memory or something. In BASIC, lists are as close as you come to that, and they do support complexities. First, define your list-matrix. Mine will be 3 rows by 7 columns.

Define it:
7(3-1->dim(L1

Let's say I want to write the value "14.3" to the list-matrix at row A and column B. Here, A=2 and B=5:
14.3->L1(B+7(A-1
You can shorten it by doing this, though it only is practical when the width of the matrix is a single-digit number:
14.3->L1(B+7A-7

By nature of this method, going out of bounds columnwise would just cause the targeted element to be on the next line. Exceeding the row limit will give you an error.

Ok thanks for that. Not that I believe that I'll ever need it though, Link of a picture of poop what the ($&#(#$&(# ever. It isn't like I'm the one who even needed it but ok. I don't see why I'm a foo, which spelled by Mr. T is fool like normally but l isn't really that pronounced by normal people.

Wow you've just figured out something that everyone has known for all of history.

Hey, who changed my post? I shall continue to reedit until it stays the same.
