Make sure your calc is on and connected to your computer.

If it turns off, that means the computer is not recognizing it, or your batteries are dead.

If your calc is on, pluged into your computer, and still is not being reconized by the comp then I have a feeling that you pluged your calc in before you installed TI connect. If that is the case update your driver.

The calc does turn off after a period of inactivity, even when it's plugged into the computer. What I would do is press [ON] on your calc right before you click the button to transfer whatever you want to be transferred, if that's the problem.
