We would like to expand our content pages (cgi-bin/pages.cgi) and fix some of the old ones.

If you are interested, you can respond here. It wouldn't hurt to give us enough information to be able to determine whether or not you are suitable for the position. This position will be open to more than just a few people. We would like to "hire" (unpaid) enough people to get some new and better content on the site. This includes help-guides, programming tutorials, and anything else related to calculators or this website.

If you are hired and do a good job, you just might be promoted to full-administrator.

If you are a global moderator on the forum right now, you will likely receive the "content manager" position if you desire it. Just post here and ask for it.

Ok, you should be able to edit and add stuff in pages.cgi.

Soon you will be able to do the same with faq.cgi.

Were you a content manager earlier? you might already know how to do stuff...

I'd offer to help, but A: I don't know any HTML, Javascript, Flash, XML, CGI, or SHTML programming; and B: you most likely wouldn't let me help if I could.

Just so you guys know, there is no coding involved in this. The only requirement is a good knowledge of calculators and a little bit of HTML.

Ok, go to the portal and look around at the "content pages"... it should be pretty self-explanatory.

Aw, that means I have to use calcg.org. Also, I can edit the portal itself, but none of the other pages.

There aren't edit buttons on every single page. If you go to the content section (or just pages.cgi), and click on any one of the sections, there will be an edit link for each page.

Well html is not a problem, and I like to think that I am very good with calculators. I'll let you guys be the judge of that. If you guys want, I'll be more then happy to help.

I'm still disqualified; don't know any HTML whatsoever.

Add Perl to my previous list, too, please.

Zachary: you should now also be able to do stuff. Go to the portal, then at the very bottom there is a section about "Content Pages" or something. You should be able to edit those pages and add your own.

Once we get a few more, we'll go over what needs to be done and how to do it.

Edit: by the way, good spelling and grammar is also important here. If you see any errors in other pages as far as spelling or grammar, that's one of the things that you should be fixing.

Hm, speaking of this, I was a review moderator at one point. Does that exist anymore?

dprog: You're still too new at this site to be hired. Maybe in 3 or 4 years we can use you.

I can almost imagine exactly 3 years from now, when someone replies to this topic and says, "dprog, you're hired!"

Spelling and grammar are my Internet specialties, but I honestly believe that this site has more than enough staff as it is.

WARNING: THIS POST CAME THROUGH A TIME WARP FROM EXACTLY THREE YEARS TWO MONTHS IN THE FUTURE.

dprog, you're hired! You are now my secretary. You get to do all the work I don't want to...I mean, you do half the work. Yeah that's what I meant.

Wait, if that post came through a time warp, why is the post date marked today? Shouldn't it be marked Sept. 14, 2010, because it was posted and then warped?

I, also, throw my hat into the ring (as per usual when a chance to become admin pops up), and would also like to note that I would like to have my previous permissions back as global mod.
