Total Posts: 1676 | Z, we need to do something to shorten news titles (just a little bit)... my idea: take off seconds from time (kind of ridiculous), and instead of having AM/PM, just make it do military time... can you do that? that'd help a little.. i don't know what else we can do.

Total Posts: 2486 | well, i agree. i doubt that taking off seconds will make any significant difference. i'd however propose another idea. why not redesign news article a little bit and show the discuss link on the bottom of the message. like:
title :: posted by user on date
news article
(blank line)
>aligned right>Discuss (posts)
this may be done along with your suggested changes. this changes are quite easily made, thanks to tmeplates.

btw, taking off seconds AND the AM/PM (and replacing with military time) would at least give back the room taken by the scrollbar we just put in (one news article is too long (FAT engine one) now, it wasn't before)
but yeah, every little letter helps.
