They're have been alot of updates recently, a newer news, many new games, a FAQ, and new members every day. Well, I've noticed that it is getting harder and harder for me to acess the site now. I have Comcast, and it never does this for any other site, but recnetly, it's been taking forever to load. . . .

Oh, and what was wrong with Kill Harry Potter? I know it wasn't that great, but I thought it was at least okay, I mean, was there a bug or somethin?

all i know is that it was called "kill harry potter".

TI wouldn't like that.

i know other games have killing involved, but they're not about killing a good wizard boy.

Ti has over 5 games that are called Kill Harry Potter-thats where I got the idea to make a bigger better one that wasn't just words-but alright, I'll let it go. But I mean, some of our games are way worse. . . . oh, and harry potter is NOT a good wizard boy, he's a creep.

Well, it's not, I made this game 100% on my own.

I'm informing calcgames that I no longer wish to be a moderator. Why? Well, I'm being accused of copyrighting games that took me weeks to make, then calcgames DELETES my games, disses me right and left, so yeah I'M TICKED OFF AT YOU GUYS!! I try to keep my temper, but no peoples, I'm not wasting another mintue of my life as a fricking mod!!!!!

Who dissed me? Barret thinks that I purposly enlogate my posts by hitting enter over and over again, hello, it WAS AN ACCIDENT! Jeez!

Who dson't respect me? All the newbies out there who think I'm retarded and treat me like I'm 5 when I'm the one answering all their questions.

The only person who hasn't dissed me, delted my games, or accused me of copyrighting is Zootch-Zootch I love you man.

I will continue to be a member-but a mod is too much for someone who obviuosly isn't wanted here.

I'm not taking anything back. If you want to edit my post-why? It's all true.

the "harry potter" might be trademarked...and TI is real picky with the links...if you still have a controversial game...just put it on your webasite...and have calcgames put your site in their site section...thats what I did, and i get traffic to my site...

Calculator freak, it's not the game itself that would be a copyright infringement. It's the fact that Harry Potter is a trademarked name. A russian author that wrote a book about "Tara Grotter," was sued by JK Rowling, and JK Rowling won.

If you accidently hit enter over and over again, then you should have edited it out right away. Curiously, why would anyone WANT to elongate their post? It's not like calcgames give points for longer posts.

You can't expect newbies to respect you. Respect must be earned, being a mod commands no respect, when people recognize the help you have given them, they MAY respect you. I've seen people who thank Z, D, and Bullfrog. Maybe i even have some respect :eek_a: that'd be a bit of a pleasant surprise.

We (really B and Z) delete any questionable links because TI's link definately helps us grow. However, as in the case of ticalc.org briefly, they were removed because of content that was not appropriate for kids on the site.

Well, to revolt against a site Mariolover, you merely do not come anymore, which i wouldn't mind, unless you want to bring something constructive.

Largeandlarger01 "Revolt against this trant," I was bewildered to what trant means, it is a verb that means "To traffic in an itinerary manner; to peddle." I'm sorry, but we are not taking a journey in a scheduled manner.

To anyone who thought about my health, i don't expect to drop dead anytime soon, and certainly not because one (or a few, or even many) people on calcgames don't like me.

I doubt that Calculatorfreakcg's threat of a worst nightmare will happen, but if u really hate this site so much, just leave, it's simple.

P.S. Calc freak, what in this site do you think should be changed?

CalcfreakCG. If you don't want to moderate any forums, or just some pecific ones, I'll be happy to change it for you. Also, we are only warnign that there could be a possible copyright infringment for a variety of reasons:

1. It's illegl, try and change the name
2. We can get sued over it, and no one here can afford that.
3. TI took their dear old time giving us our link baack on their site, and we definately don't want to loose it again.

Yeah-I see your point, not worth losing the site a few stupid games, besides, if they want the game that bad, all you have to do if make a menu of body parts, and then drawing about 10 pics, it wasn't that hard-and I see your point.

I think this site is fine, nothing wrong with, keep it the same.

Revolt? Alright, Mariolover, cool it, you and 2 other freakazoids won't change the way calcgames is run, you'll just get banned.

I have decied that being a mod is too much work-thats all, I can't visit this site like I used, but I still want to be an active communtiy memember, no revolting, no uprising, it was just too much work.

Sorry for the chaos.

Don't worry, its not you who caused the unrest. Mariolover pulled the trigger. After this post I'll remove you mod status as you've requested. I understand why your upset, or were, but you didn't cross the line in my book. Don't sweat it.

I don't know how to comment on this...
People need to realize that this is a FREE website and everything we do is provided for FREE. All the administrators use their earned money and their free time you run all of this and help all the people who come here for help. We do not tell people that their post is OT when its not. This is why we have different forum sections so that posts can be categorized. Its obvious that asking for game help in programming or poll forum is not a right place for it. I can't count how many times I've seen questions asking same exact thing that was asked a few topics below. All of us have been answering same questions over and over and over. We took time to add FAQs but people still don't read them and they don't want to search the boards either. As Digital said, we provide resources and people should use them to get the help because help is already there.

No one forces you to come to the site and thus if you don't like it for whatever reason you don't have to come back. Not liking the site is not a reason to post something offensive. Those who want improvements, whatever they are, can suggest them. I'm amazed how rude some people are to us despite everything we try to do for them. People who want new features should encourage us to add them, not trash us. This is the reason why many sites close their forums, its because people are not willing to respect those who do things for them not much how much. For us to keep helping everyone and adding to the site this attitude needs to be changed. I always tried not to mention all of this as it happens regualrly these days, but this totally broke the line that kept me from doing so.

As with you calcfreak, I'm very disappointed with you... If you don't want to be a mod for whatever reason, then be it. You're doing it at your own free will and nobody holds you. You can quit any time as you have just done.

Okay, I'm not going to say anything else...

Oh yes if you're reading this confused08, we can ban you and its not going to be your username as you said above. If we actually get to this point, it will be much more complicated than removing your user account. Besides, if you don't like the site so bad then why come here?

I aggree zkostik...I really liked this sites layout and the forum...the forum here actually had...(drumroll)...no flames...on-topic discustion...and other perks...this site gave me a place to release my games and gauge public reaction on them...but when the TI link came back...people were expecting a site that apprearently did everything for them...when they wanted it...and what they wanted...I had a couple of suggestions...and some of them got implimented...and I didn't really care about how long it took...I have a busy life too..sports...school...ect...and i realize that people have other things to do...so when the site was improved...I didn't expect it..I appreacted it...

this was, and still is a well made site...and I thank and respect those who take time out of their lives to maintain it...

ABout the forum topic...I think you/we should refer calculator help to the FAQ only...the site is too hetic as it is...if theres something I can do to help maintain the site...I'd be glad to volenteer to keep this site as it once was...

Occurences like this make me even wonder why I help people with their calculator problems. Yeah, I understand that it's new to them. Yes, I know it takes a while to get the hang of it. Yes, it can be frustrating at times. Just cool it for a minute and you'll be helped. If you expect those with the knowledge to tell you how to do everything, and do it in less than 5 sentences, you've come to the wrong place. This stuff takes time, and lots of it. No one is being forced to help any of you. They're doing of their own free will. And this is how you treat them? That's todays world for you.

Okay, I'm done ranting. Kinda feels good... I'm more than happy to help people with their problems. But if they diss me in any way, I will be highly inclined to make them look, and feel, like an idiot. (Though I avoid that because it's not nice to do.)

Actually, just on a sidenote. I don't think there IS any other site where people can get help with their calc problems. On ticalc they don't have general discussion forum and they don't have it on ti-news either. On calc.org there aren't that many people and they're not aimed at calc help either. Even on TI's own boards, you won't get all the help and resources we provide. I just don't understand why people act so bad towards us.
After I get my upcoming features done (after all this I don't even feel like implementing any new features...) I'll start to moderate the boards more. Not many will like that, but if people can't keep it friendly here, we'll at least keep the board organized.

Well, I have a few things to say after reading those posts. But, I'm droping the subject.

Z-disapointed? Okay, but, you need not be. I was mad becuase my game got removed, but I'm over it. After people accused me of not even making the game, it really offened me. I mean, how would you like it, if you made a Complete Mario game, that had everything the game could have-and then have people blame you for copying other Mario games? I did that with the Kill Harry Potter game, after seeing the terrible ones ticalc had to offer. But, I'm over it.

well, i was disappointed with the way you talked. you should have handled yourself. its just a game for god's sake, nothing that important. i understand that you made it and that took time, but apprently not everyhitng we do is good or correct. you just shouldn't take this kind of thing personally. i wouldn't take it personally if somebody didn't like my games, but i'd appreciate constructive criticism and try to make my game better so that everyone is happy with it, at least for the most part. flames, curses and bad arguments usually never solve anything and as you can see just server as a base for more bad things. just learn for that experience so that you can predict what your actions may cause. i'm glad you understand that point now and i hope that will not happen in future. let's just keep the site clean and friendly as it was. i'm sure none of us will like heavy moderation and such, so lets not provoke inappropriate stuff and enjoy the freedom that we allow across this site.

I've seen two *excellent* Palm OS games that were shut down. Pbobble, and Touchtetris, both free. Pbobble got shut down after outlook entertainment got the copyright to remake puzzle bobble for Palm, after all the work the author had put into it, he was forced to remove it from handango/palmgear/his website.

Similar story with touchtetris. It was an interesting take on tetris too, the ability to drag pieces using the touchscreen and drop tiem based on a clock rather than continuously falling was a great idea. It wasn't even very similar to tetris as you would know it.

Hopefully giving soem perspective.
