Jeez you guyz are fast at adding files to archives. I just want to say that. :). So much better than ticalc.org...and why don't they show images if you upload them on their site?

We're quick because, well, it's M's job but anyone *can* do it (it's so easy it's laughable). And on ticalc, the screenshots are approved separately.

How come it seems as though everyone is an administrator here?

Well, you could refer to our handy, dandy, staff list. But the only really active admins posting on the forums are Z, Andy, and myself. Spiral and Digital will occasionally, along with Morgan and Redux.

Yeah now it is...right befoer you got hired it took about 5 minutes + to add 1 file. It was kind of unbearable. I kept telling B how much better ticalcs was and he well, he helped me out big time.

I check pending here about 4 times a day, so at most wait would be overnight (approx 8 hours).

As for ticalcs...I don't know why they don't add the screenshots more often, it isn't any harder than adding the files. They are two seperate systems, but that never seemed to matter much, hell last summer over 20,000 screenshots were added through the same exact method ny 1 person :-/

How many people of the staff list have access to the site scripts (like with the cPanel)? I know at least Z, B, and Allyn do, but who else?

Ever wonder what that little link called "Admin" under the site tab is for?

I'm sure I've said this before but I do know my way around Perl. -_- Granted, I don't know how Teemz works but at the very least they can send me the scripts so I can look at them and I can work on implementing something, but have them put it up.

Then again, I'm not sure I want to have to worry about that, as I'm sure it's a big mess. :)

Andy, teemz is a monster, trust me. But if you really want to mess with it, and you have the time, I can get you access to the scripts.

Nope, and frankly, I didn't think it meant anything either besides getting unlimited access to the forums. How big are the teemz scripts anyways?

Well, here's what I have over a normal user:

* I can approve files.
* I can edit files.
* I can approve reviews.
* I can edit reviews.
* I can create/edit any content page (content managers can create and edit _their own_ pages).
* I can create/edit any FAQ item (content managers can create and edit _their own_ items).
* I can post front page news.
* I can edit front page news.
* I have full administrator status on the forums.
* I have an @calcgames.org email address. ^_^
* I have access to the Admin To-Do list. (Which I just edited to have a "view to-done items" link.)
* I have FTP access to cgi-bin.

I'm sure there's more that I don't know about, but...

Oh and for how big teemz is, I haven't looked, but I heard teemz.cgi is over 100KB.

Umm... 600-700 kilobytes (for all teemz code) plus a good deal of templates and config files. And we have a megabyte or so of other script code to cover other site functions and all. We have changed the original scripts lots and lots of times so they grew a good deal of code. It's not the most complicated script to get around but it definitely does take some time to get used to and know where everything goes and what everything does. As with server admins, we don't really need anymore people at this time.
To korkow/Lunchbox, if you'd like to help with content and news, please talk to Morgan or Andy as they mainly decide on who can get access to that. Though, you can always just write up stuff and email it to them to be put onto the site, you'd ofcourse get a credit for any contributions you make. Oh and trust me, you don't really want to get unlimited access anyway as it will take you some very long time to get the hang of things around the place anyway. Even I sometimes forget where some things are. :)

As much as I love CG, I have my own website to maintain (actually doesn't require much effort...*yet*), so I don't want anything to do with the 1 meg of scripts (anything more than 5k of source scares me :) ). And also, just out of curiosity, I know Z and B have customized the teemz script to fit CG personally, so about how much of the 600-700k is the original (not counting includes, configs, and stylesheets)?

To Lunchbox: Man, who knows how much of the code is ours. I'd still guess it less than 10-20%. It was more of integrating other things with teemz to have one complete system. Our teemz is a very old version (refer to teemz website) so lots of things have been changed in it, hence making it impossible to upgrade but I think we pretty much added all the features that upgraded provided. In reality, our version still has a lot more goodies than even the current version of teemz.

To Morgan: LOL! My bad... That's just what happens when someone leaves what used to be a temp file folder and makes it permanent coz he didn't feel like finishing the job and then someone else doesn't take the time to make sure its okay to delete it and just goes ahead and maked p*proper* changes. Yay! :) I'll make sure to check twice next time.

I just noticed, I have a bunch of files in the recent files section. All of them but 1, by Jc are all mine. That's funny. Do you guys ever get that time of year where you just have to program? Or just want to program? Cuz i think that's what's happening to me right now.

*edited: Wait my bad, there's Algerbra solver that isn't by me also. How come it also seems like no one is downloading off this site that much anymore, compared to before, I noticed, one of my games got up to 1400 downloads, and now, they all get up to like 20 and stop. Sorry, i'm just curious.

Edit
Usually, summer is really slow and fall is HUGE because the school year is starting. We get a lot of n00b help topics in autumn. Things are slowing down, yes, but don't fret. It's just a normal cycle.

lol, that's funny. Well during the summer I'll probably be idle. Kamakazi is probably the last game i'm goina make for a while. I have another idea, but it's going to take a lot of graphing so I'm not so sure about it. Oh ya, and I sent in earlier today a game called Gunned Down v1.0. I want that removed and in place of it put in Kamakazi v1.0. Gunned Down just didn't seem like a good name, andp lus I have an idea of how to use that name in another game, IF I do go ahead and complete these last two ideas of mine.
