Hey Andy... how's the newletter coming? I haven't heard about it for a while... I thought it was monthly.

Original agreement had redux doing the next one... But, it's getting to the point where I'm just going to put something out without all the neat stuff he has... And from what I've heard, when that stuff does come out it should be nice.

Now, what do you guys want to see in the newsletter? Interviews, editorials, what? :) I have some ideas for interviews, but I've not done one before.. But I think I'll just go ahead and ask the guy I have in mind (no spoilers! :P).

Hints and Tips for creating games or dealing with hardware would be nice too. A Q&A section (maybe Ask the Calc Geek) would be neat as well.

And everyone loves an editorial. Maybe I'll come up with something.

We already have an editorial for this one. It's gonna be a surprise. :)

OK, now it'd be nice if we can throw a little chat together then... I know I shouldn't be using the forum for this, but really I don't care if it's just you two. I just don't want to do the first one alone. :) I'm on IRC and AIM 99% of the time, just sign on and see if I'm idle.

Anyway, we already have an editorial and programming tutorial. Anything else needs decided and done. I'll email the guy I'm thinking about interviewing later, but first I'll need to think about what I'd ask him... Which means looking at a bunch of old interviews. :)

I am thinking that you have a section on projects that are going on in the community. That would be a good way to shed some light on some of the stuff going on out there...

Ohhh, good idea. So what do we have that we could put in there (with author permission, of course)? GB68K, that Mario game you linked, Zelda, PindurTI, anything else you'd want to see in the first one? (I think 4 would be enough.)

I am thinking that one or two for the 83+/84+, one for the 86 (if they can be found) and a couple for the 68k. Try not to just have for one calc in one newsletter. :)

That'd be 2 for 68K, one for 83+, and a computer program... How's that sound for now? Really, I just want SOMETHING to throw out soon then something else at the beginning of next month, at this rate. So maybe just a few articles for this one, I don't know.

The more the better A! I loved the previous installment and I wouldn't mind if we continue the tradition. It may also be a good idea to do an html newsletter insted of plain text, that way we can include pics and otherwise spice it up. Either way would be good tho.

OK, I'm working on the newsletter right now (drop in #CalcGames for interactivity), but I still need a few things. Looking at the last (only?) one, I don't have an interview, rather unknown feature, or anything for ask the nerds. If someone wants to drop in and contribute anything for those, go right ahead. I don't think I'm going to send it until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest, so you can drop in any time between now and then.

Oh and as for that project idea TI Freak had, that'll have to wait until next month so I can ask the authors. I don't want to just put their stuff in here without their permission.

OK, working copy is here. I'll wait an hour (Family Guy and American Dad) before sending it out, if I can figure it out. Make any comments you'd like, I can still change it.

HTML version will have to wait til next month, I'm too tired to do so tonight.

OK, I can't find this supposed script to send the newsletter out so it'll have to wait.

How does one sign up for this alleged newsletter, if you'll pardon my n00bishness?

Looks very cool thus far Andy. An HTML version with screenies will look even better.

To answer your n00by quiestion Lunchbox, you just go in your CG profile and make sure "receive newsletter" box is checked. If so then you'll get our newletter whenever Andy is happy with the result. :)

I'm happy with the result for this month, it's just we can't figure out how to send it out. To do it "right", I'll get started on July's in a few days. That should have plain text (for email) and HTML (for website) versions, plus a lot more content. Actually, if we could add another checkbox for the HTML version for email, that would work too. I don't want to just send the HTML version, a lot of people don't have HTML email clients (or have it turned off for security).

I suppose just having a link for the HTML version at the top of a plain text newsletter should be enough as more checkboxes will most likely just confuse some people. However if you think a checkbox will be a best option then I suppose we can code it in.

I agree with Z, most people who come here probably don't know what HTML is, or even if they do, they don't know if their email supports it (Mine Does!!! Go Gmail!)
