Judging from some recent posts and topics today, I feel compelled to say a few things. One is the right of all mankind to practice free speech. As I am a strong believer in this concept, along with the other members of this site, we have allowed many topics that would have been closed long ago on other forums to continue. However, we may have stepped over an imaginary line today.

I would like to point out that anything that staff members said was strictly their own viewpoints, and are in no way a reflection of either this site’s beliefs or its attitudes towards others. I allowed this situation to get out of hand, and I’m truly regretful of the result it. Speaking for all staff members here I can say that we are truly sorry for what transpired today.

Don't worry, all is forgiven, and nothing got too out of hand, unlike some other things way in the past that kinda... well... should've been locked and deleted a LONG time ago.

Apology accepted. And I'm glad to hear that CalcGames.org has a policy of respect and at the same time, free speech. I look forward to any dealings and communications with you guys in the future.

After having some time to settle down and just plain think, I realize yeah I was a bit too harsh. But I still stand by (most of) what I said. Let me put it this way: If some new user would have posted that, and you didn't know it was a staff member, would you have reacted in the same way? I don't think so. Your interpretation of the words was biased by who posted it.

Anyway, I still wouldn't deem it newsworthy matieral, what with the bugs and glitches and just plain inadequacies I saw. Not to mention it wasn't *cough* uploaded here *cough*.

I may not like you as a person, but if requested to I will grant an unbiased review of your work.

The following is my opinion.

Your freedom of speech stops when you are using it to provoke me. If you are stating what you believe and I get mad because I don't agree, that's my fault. If you are saying things to make me mad and it works, that's your fault.

Just my two cents...

Edit: By the way, that's said without any idea of what happened. Just fyi.

Cool. And yes, I would like to withhold the news request until I finish fixing all the bugs you guys found. So far I exterminated 2 of the 4 bugs.

Yes.... If, when you get it working, you would want us to take a look at it, I'd gladly do so. I really am trying to not be biased here. I may not like the way you act or some of the things you do (too tired to try to think of specific things right now), but I'll grant unbiased reviews etc for the site.

And yes, I was harsh. I know that. I'd've done things differently if I'd've known then what I know now.

Sometimes, the best way to learn things is the hard way. You remember them better that way.

Criticism is not always a bad thing. However, it certainly is not helpful unless it is constructive. I enjoy criticism on the most part, including "flames" or death threats (well, not really). Usually I can extract some constructiveness out of them. "I hate you" does not count. "I hate your damn slow game" is a little better. "Your program has way too many bugs, like (place bug here) and (place bug here). I hope you can fix them" is the kind of comments that are taken the best. Hopefully we can stick to the third type, and make a better community that way.

The only problem is that most people nowadays like to just yell at you and call you stupid... Without giving reasons. Rarely do you find someone who adds why they hate you. (Even rarer is people that actually work things out with you.)

I think that if someone has a problem with another person, they should work it out in private. No need to make things public...

That's why I like this site. The people are like that. :)

If I find a problem with a game or program, I try to say hey, here is a bug, and this is the best way that I know how to fix the bug. Or here is a site that tells how to take care of that...

I try not to be evil like that, unless you have to tell them more than 3 times what it is... lol

Patience only goes so far...

I agree. If you flame someone, they're just going to be mystified what your problem is, but if you take the time to say 'Your program is terrible because...', that's much better.

This isn't meant as a flame or anything, rather as a constructive comment, as I have experienced this same confusion in the past as well.

It's not "intensive purposes" (or "intenesive purposes"). It's "intents and purposes."

I used to think the same thing until I realized that the words didn't make any sense.
