It seems our database went down again yesterday; full functionality has been restored.

Why do they keep going down? Is it an overload or updates??

Ahhhh, that's where my nitroglycerin went. I wondered why they didn't find it in my bags on the way back from Germany. My bad.

I'm not sure myself why the db went down again, luckily this time is wasn't dead as long as last one. My guess is that the company that bought our host is rearranging things (or moving to a better server) which would be understandable seeing that they're a pretty large hosting company. I don't recall them announce any scheduled maintenance downage but if this happens again I'll write them and ask what's up. Our host has generally been very nice for the 3 or 4 years we've been with them and have kept things running nice and smooth overall so I can't really complain. But as everyone said, I'd also like to know what caused this downage just to know. I remember when CG picked up some speed thanks to TI link, our host actually moved the site to another faster server with fewer people on it so that it all runs nicely. :)
