as we all know it is a bit akward to the self when you check a topic thinking that someones posted and then turns out nobody has
or maybe frusterating is the word after waiting a couple of days for a response. (with all inclusive bumping)

so
howabout next to the name of the person who posted the topic (in the active topics section) there should be the name of the last person who posted
=D

(btw i didnt make it up
they do that on gaia)

The 2 reasons that I want to totally disregard anything you ever say from now on because:
1. You visit Gaia
2. You think that Gaia might be the only forum with that function, when in actuality it's closer to this being the only forum WITHOUT it.

The only reason I can't say this is a bad idea is because it's a repost of something I asked for over a year ago.

You can just click on "View Today's Active Topics." Or log in and log off, and there will be stars next to forms and topics with new replies.

Why not just remember the number of posts in each active topic? It takes much less time than any of those other shenanigans.

some people dont have the best memory for numbers... not sying any names. your best bet is just revisit every topic to see for yourself.

the forum at design.calcgames.org has this function built in already. So just wait until we switch over.

What type of forum is it? I can't tell.
Is it an invision mod like this one, a commercial forum, or self made?

Hydralisk: Whee. I hope I get more and more dickish as time passes. I see you're still having trouble spelling everything.

I'm sure we'll see lots of updates on design.calcgames.org once Barrett gets back from the Dominican Republic. I hope it's skinnable though, I'm not the biggest fan of the color scheme, though it is nice.

Both sites will stay but new one is basically a redesign and adds much needed features. They both sit on the same user and file database, though forums will split. We're however considering importing the current old forum into the new one, once all the poo poo get's ironed out and then we may close the old forum but we'll see about that. Currently, we plan to have both sites running so people can use the one they like better and we'll go from there. Eventually the plan is to just keep both layouts but switch to features of the new system. The new system has color schemes and ability to have different logo for each, there isn't a full skin since the layout doesn't really use gfx (makes site load and run much faster, and reduced wasted bandwith and server load).

i think thats great. It would be cool if you could have a tab at the top that said "switch to other version" and it would direct you to the eact same place you were previously... just in the other version.

Well, tabs probably won't work for that since old site is framed and new one is all generated. We plan on using two domains for the sites and both will share same user/file db but forum will eventually migrate to the new one once its done and debugged.
