But these ROMs I have are mine (A 92+, an 83+, an 83+SE, an 81 (alot of work went into the getting of this one...), and an 89 TE)

You have a TI-81, a 92+, an 83+, an 83+SE, and an 89ti?

How did you get a 81 ROM without destroying the calculator?

Well, I know there's a way to get it from the actual ROM chip on the calculator, but that's really risky and you have like a 4% chance of it actually working. Maybe he had like 30 spare TI-81's to burn through.

I cracked open (Unscrewed the case) my 81 and found a place for a link port... after a while I finished sodering it on and procedded to attempt to send linking information to the calc... that didn't work but I did "syphon" the ROM off of it by using about 20 wires and some spare serial cables to link it to a 3rd party linking software (I forget which) and spent the next 3 hours getting a decent ROM... And it worked! I have the ONLY link port enabled 81 EVER!!! (the link port dosent work with the OS but I'll fix this soon)

Nice. I spent almost that much time manipulating my link cable to output sound to my nice speakers (works like a charm :) ).

YESSSSSS!!!!! I have an 81 with a custom ROM!!! My friend ripped open the OS for the 81 and put in code for the link port! and the 81 never knew the diffrence! although if I use the port too much it smells like burning plastic...

It was just the fact that the port put extra strain on the processor...

So... you have the ROM for the 81, but whats the point of it if there is no emulator...
