By freak accident, I noticed that I had amassed 999 posts. This will be #1000. This is a terrific landmark, as it means I've actually been here long enough to matter. :)

Now, for your reading pleasure, I will write about my experiences in CG.

It all started one day when I found CG through TI's official website. I was a semi-n00b- I knew only how to program BASIC, due to a lack of a link cable for a long time. I thought this site was astounding, and I immediately tried to figure out MirageOS and Super Mario. When I did, I set to work making levels- something I had always dreamed of doing. I released them here only under the short title of "Jc": my initials. To my surprise, they actually got quite a few downloads.

I started adding my own works to the site and eventually decided that I should look at ASM. So I did the first thing that came to my mind: post in the forums. At the time, I didn't even have a username. So after making one, I posted a total n00bish question. I started to like the message board... it was a friendly and involved community. I learned enough about the calculators to be more than slightly helpful in the community and went from there.

Now, about 1 1/2 years later, I am 12th most d/l-ed author and have 31 games in the archive. (Well, Don't Die! is only half on there...) Frankly, none of my games have been huge hits (although one was file ID 500 and got its own news article!), but I've tried to do the one thing I thought was important: be user-friendly. I hope I succeeded.

I hope my story gives n00bs hope to reach for the stars and keep trying to succeed. One of my philosophies has always been: "We were all beginners once."

The great thing is, I still have a great distance to go.

So, I hope you all enjoyed this 1000th post. I tried to make it memoriable for me and interesting for you, and not sound conceited or anything.

Rock on, CG. Rock on.

You know, there is a difference between a "newb" and a "n00b." A newb is a fairly intelligent person who is new to a certain techology. A n00b is a person with a sub100 IQ who has problems trying to remember not to drool, not to mention doing something else that might be more difficult than that. :-)

I would have had 1000 posts by now probably, but there was about a 5 or 6-month period where I didn't log on to CG at all (out of my 11 month tenure here), so i was deeprived of quite a few posts.
