Part 5 in the series is taking too long to load now. In case you were wondering, the end of the last thread was discussing Zootch's age, television, and Invader Zim (strange combo, eh?) I suppose we could keep going on that or try something new, like the NBA Playoffs! The Pacers will beat everyone this year, hands down.

To clarify, I said "officially." Of course there could always be somone older.

I really don;t give a hoot or holler for any team. Sorry, just not that involved in sports.

the indiana pacers had the best record in the league this year under coach rick carlisle and gm larry bird. with defensive player of the year, ron artest, should-be-mvp jermaine o neal, and veteran reggie miller, they can't lose.

mvp is not jermaine oniell.

everyone knows it's gonna be kevin garnett.

and no, the pacers will not win. Look at the teams they played the most (eastern teams)... the only reason their record was that high was because they played against the worst half of the NBA 4 times and the better half only twice.

whoever wins the lakers/spurs series will go on to win it all.

dude, their combined record against the west was far above .600 . and although jermaine o neal did not win, he should've. the pacers have proved through the entire season that they're the team to beat, and nobody is giving them props. the days of the western conference titles are over. this year, the pacers shall rule.

I'm 17. 18 in six months, w00t! Seems like all the really good programmers are 18-22 though. I suppose it's becauyse they have experience. Man Zootch, you're that old and you weatch Invader Zim? You remind me of my friend's mom, she's in her late 30s but she has the mentality of a twelve year old, and she loves Invader Zim. The last time I went to her house she was blasting- yes, blasting- the Doom song. She also listnes to Korean pop music. A strange combo.

Disney cartoons are only good untill 1940 or so...

Just so you know, no east team wins over a west team in the playoffs, et alone the finals. That's just not the way it works. The way it works is: Winner of San Antonio/ L.A. Lakers series goes on to win it all. Plain and simple.

historically more teams win from the west than those from the west. san antonio and l.a. both have decent teams, but none can compare with the skill and versatility of the indiana pacers. i guarantee a win no matter who they play in the finals.

You know PhilosopherEd, that all depends on IF they get to the finals. Detroit will kick the trash out of the "pacers" in the east finals and then get swept by the Lakers in the finals. go lakers!

sorry allyn, i meant to say east. the keys are right next to each other. blahblah, detroit isn't going anywhere in the playoffs. they will lose in 5 games to the pacers, who will in turn, defeat san antonio (not lakers) in the finals!

The Pacers are very good...for an Eastern team. I don't think you get it PhilEd, The West is naturally better than the East, that's all there is to it. The Pacers cannot and will not win in the final round. If there wasn't the rule that the finals must be an east team versus a west team, there would always be two west teams in the finals. BTWW, good point Zootch, lol.

lunchbox, you obviously do not know your nba history.

"If there wasn't the rule that the finals must be an east team versus a west team, there would always be two west teams in the finals"

you seem to be wrapped up in the last four or five years of the finals, completely ignoring the past. have you forgotten about the reign of the boston celtics? and not even 10 years ago was the reign of the bulls. the pacers are about the be the next team for the books, whether you like it or not.

You're all wrong. The best team in in basketball this year, like always, is......

The Harlem Globetrotters!!!!
In all seriousness, the generals (or whoever they face) get their butts kick all the time. Even if the games may be rigged....

kirby, the globe trotters are either: a)former players who needed money, b)young guys who couldn't make the NBDL , or c)people who can do tricks with a basketball but can't play the game. the pacers are the best team that there is!

The Spurs are looking like the best team right now. They're my pick to win it all. The Lakers are a mess and I don't see them getting their act together in time. After the season, Gary Payton and Kobe are likely to walk. I'm not convinced the loss of Kobe is going to be disastrous; Kareem Rush is a better guard than he gets credit for. The loss of Payton will hurt more. And I don't see any team from the East that has what it takes to beat the Spurs.

dear blahblah,

perhaps you didn't hear me the first million times. the spurs will beat the lakers in seven (as redux said). they will eventually win the west. the pacers, who will kick the crap out of the heat and then the pistons, will proceed to beat the spurs. this is not some kind of prediction, blahblah. IT WILL HAPPEN IN EXACTLY THIS WAY! you seem to be saying something, but all i can hear is the blahblah!!!

ps- PACERS!!!!

I predict that none of these teams will live, or survive the season. While all 3 teams are signing autographs, a 10.5 earthquake will swallow up the teams.

RESULT: The Earthquake will win the NCAA.

Ummm... Mavs already lost, Chase. The spurs will win it all. I don't even like the spurs, but i do KNOW that they will win. Because it has been written in the book of fate, Article XVII, section 135, subsection G, paragraph nine:
"So note, all ye opposers of fate, it has been written that the San Antonio Spurs shall winneth the National Basketball association championship series of the 2004-2005 season. And as it was written, so it shall happen. All who dare to oppose shal be smitten in any bets they place to the contrary..."
Check it out at your local library, its all there in black and white ;)

You idoit, the celtics are out too, but Chaseford is one awesome name! I KNOW the Kings will beat the T-Wolves tonight and then the series then beat the Spurs, not the Lakers then beat whatever JV east team makes it to the finals.

Lunchbox, this is the FINALS of the 2003-2004 season. perhaps the spurs will win next year as you say it is written, but this year is the year of the pacers. and when they finally do win, i'm gonna rub it in redux's, blahblah's, lunchbox's, barrett's, allyn's, spiral's, and evil kirby's faces. who cares if they are tied 2-2? the battle doesn't count as a win if you lose the war...
