anybody see/get the new playstation 2 model? it's so awesome it's small! i just got one tuesday. see the picture here:

What I don't get is, just because it's half the size, dosn't mean it is better. I don't think the old PS2s take up very much space.

Yeah I've known about it for a while. It's the exact same thing, except the minor details being it comes with broadband, and it's smaller.
Sure it's cool, but it's just a useless gimmick to milk out any more money they can on the PS2 before it's dead.
If you always wanted a PS2, and never bought one, this is a good idea. Otherwise, I find it to be another useless piece of hardware.
Hey, it makes the old PS2s even more cheaper. So it serves a purpose I suppose. Though the price will drop on the PS2 soon anyways with the release of the PS3 next year. If you've held out this long on the playstation, just keep saving for the next one. No reason not to.

in related news, Toshiba, IBM, and Sony revealed the Cell processor that's supposed to be in the PS3 today or yesterday or recently.

Yeah, I did see an article about that, but I haven't seen anything detailing the technical specs about it though.
