Emoticons should be added so that way I don't have to use all caps, all I have to do is put 2 mad emoticons around what I say. Also I suggest that there is a way to quote people more easily but that's just my opinion.

Use html/css if you want to scream, but use it with restraint.

<strong> or <em> for bold and italcs, respectively. If you want to learn css (which can be applied inline by adding a style="" attribute to any HTML tag), go here

by "not everyone can post html" do you mean not all have the knowledge or not all have the ability. And 1337h4kor, when u post something just look below the textbox and theres a bunch of stuff on the html u can use, its really simple anyways, b-bold i-italic u-underline

yeah but what about strong bold alt all caps. I know very little HTML I understand all of the basic commands but there is now extra bold which could replace the all caps.

Not everyone can post HTML cuz of a very stupid guy who messed up a rule topic 2 years ago with a non-closed <textarea> tag

As for yelling you don't need to yell on this forum except to n00bs. In this case post in all caps but make sure the other is really a n00b else no one will read your post.

There is no such thing as "extra bold". There is only bold, italics, neither, or both. And underline, I guess. But you can always up the font size a little if you need that extra edge. The link I gave you teaches you all about css, and you can get to an html tutorial from there. So don't play the "I don't know html card." Learn it.

Wow, I decided to check CG with internet explorer and picture/flash ads are annoying. The "love button - push me hard!" was a killer though, I was cracking up. Guess I got too used to FF with AdBlock so I forgot life of normal folks who still use IE. :)

I have a suggestion for the forums:

It would be good to have an system similar to the /ignore feature on IRC chats, so when we add a member to our black list his posts wont show up when we browse the forums. Invision Power Board 2.x has this alerady. If you do this it would be a good idea to make the feature disallow members from ignoring staff and admins though, so staff won't get ignored when they warn an user. It's up to you though, but it would help if some people get annoyed by an user and prevent fights.

If this is enabled there's a person in particular on this forum that will go on my /ignore list, I will not name who is it but some of you may have a guess alerady and since I recommend disallowing blocking staff you alerady know it's not one of the website staff/admin.

Ok well then, Hmm. I think we should add a new board where it's just flaming and it won't count towards the posts.

Also I can PM my self. I think that that's very odd.

Flaming + spam actually, usually on other sites they merges both together.

As for PMing yourself I noticed this on IRC and other forums too, weird x.x, altough useful to save notes quickly

Hydra: there were no popups, prbly just the ads were buggy in the other browser

but still there should be a board with it on it. I'm on a site that has anentire forum dedicated to flaming. I think that this site should have a flame board.

For some reasons I think a forum to insult other members doesn't have its place in the TI community. I have been around since 2001 and saw the TI community members leave because of flaming, and we try to prevent this from happening again.

A debate/rant forum (to rant about governements, windows, linux, mac os, IE, Opera, Firefox, how tifreak8x and nikky are so slow at adding files to calcgames.org archives (j/k), ow poeple am crapy grammer and other similar general stuff) would be a nicer idea i think, altough I doubt i will participate a lot

But let's say that I read something and I'm about to go insane. Should I wait the 13 minutes for that site to load? I think not. Not a forum just a clause kind of thing. Not member flaming just random flaming.

Well I'd still like to see emoticons on the site. That's the main reason I protest here. I wish to have emoticons, atleast 4. Happy, Mad, Frustrated, Sad.

we used to have emoticons. i remember those :D
they were cool.
what else...
oyeah! we should be able to delete our own posts.
say when our browser freezes and we click the post button numerous times out of frusteration and then it posts five times, or when we need to refresh a topic because nobody saw what we posts, we copy delete and paste in a new post, that way we dont have to double post.

AHHH old site threads are gone. Now more emoticon use from it. Nooooooo. I can't believe this. So why did the site change? I mean was it so that kids @ school could use it.

I know, I just screamed about it. Well I said that because there's the word "game" in the adress, and some schools might use a filter taht blocks certain keywords such as that.

no. i used that for a whole year and they never even tried. but then they changed that specific blocker to this new stupid filter that goes through every word in a site, and if any word in the site says anything wrong (from a very short scan's perspective) then it blocks it.

HTML tags are included in search results from the forum's search function (try searching for <br> or href).

It looks like there's also a problem with inequality signs as part of link text. Additionally, <br> was replaced with a line break in this post when I went back to edit it, even though it was the link text and HTML was disabled.

Happy birthday, Barrett!

It's about time that I did this, but the starring/unstarring is now AJAX driven. Let me know if you encounter any bugs with that.
