my friends had this "great" idea to wath 2 towers (lord of the rings) extendend spical features version! something like 3hrs long we paused the movie watched the ball drop in time square (on tv) and by the way did any one else notice that the people who hosted the new years eve were off by about 5 seconds when they counted down?!!? you heard them sy 10 and in the back ground you could just makeout the crowd saying 5!
any ways then we finished watching the movie!

So if the guy that's supposed to drop the ball doesn't, did he drop the ball?

I stayed up with my family until 12:00, then promptly went off to take a shower because i was painting for half the day. we actually lost power on new year's eve from about 2 am until about 1:30 pm.

I never go to bed any earlier than 12:05 AM on New Year's Eve.

I have a rather red-neckish nieghbor who prides himself in creating the most noise an earth-dweller could possibly make at Midnight.

It's the same thing every year: 5 continuous minutes of hundreds of small "noise-makers" type fireworks going off all at the same time. It literally will scare a dog or cat in a house that is at the other end of nierborhood!

I'm not sure exactly why he does this every year; it never lasts more than 4 or 5 minutes, and none of his fireworks create any impressive visual displays.

You should try living in Tennessee, where you're completely surrounded by red neckish people. Everywhere.

OMG, are we related? It's just your name and all... O_O

Just curious, how many bluegrass bands are near you? I'd imagine many.

Yea, a lot. Not to mention a lot of people who think they're big-and-bad and from the city, when the population of our town is like, 6000. We could be related... "J C" is my initials; are they yours?
