Dawson College Shooting

Saw this on the news today, very sad. I hope that nobody here was affected in any way by this. Is there nothing right with this world?

You know what... I am tired of all this... The only solution to this problem is to make it mandatory for all people who do not have a record (meaning something like robbery and above) should be forced to have a pistol and should learn to use it.

Cuase just think, If that was the case, then he might have gotten a few shots off before someone would have taken him down, before he could have hurt any of them...

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Give everyone guns who doesn't have a record? Right. That would solve everything.

Although things such as these make things look grimmer than before, it would be wrong to judge the entire world by it. Even if that wasn't what you meant, it sounds like you mean to point fingers at everyone you see for this tragedy.

You! "Blahb" Cratchet! Stop thinking and get back to work!
Ah, it would decrease the surplus population…

Well, that is mostly what I meant, although not just because of this. Many more event similar to this have happened recently, it just happens to be that this is the most recent one.

@blahblah: I completely agree. In fact, I believe that any weapon that can hold more than 10 rounds in a magazine should be restricted to military uses, because I doubt that semi-automatic 30-bullet weapons are not used for hunting deer. Although I do live in Canada, where the gun registry has done nothing but waste 1 billion dollars, but the majority of the restricted weapons (as classed by the Canadian Firearms Safety Course) are imported from other countries...

Believe what you want. But if you were a criminal, and didn't know who had a gun, would you want to rob someone?

There was a town that had something like 97% crime activity, and the mayor forced everyone to get a gun, that had a clean record. The crime rate had dropped to 3% the following year, so yeah, tell me it does not work.

I am guessing you are one of those people that thinks guns kill people, huh??

No, not at all, I know that people kill people. In fact, I don't blame the gun at all, nor do I blame the fact that the gun was legally registered. What I do blame is the man himself. Some people say he had a difficult life. Call me cold, but so what? He should not have taken out his anger on other people when he was having a rough time. It was his responsibility to get help, and he didn't, rather, he took the life of an innocent woman along with his own life.

That is what I believe is wrong, the gun comment was more just a side note (albeit a long one...) <.<

Well, I am glad that you are not falling for the lie that guns kill people. :)

Not at all. I do agree that some guns have purpose, but like I said, I believe some are far too powerful, imho.

People don't kill people; guns kill people?

You might wanna think that one over, there. There are always ways to kill people, no matter what restrictions are put into effect.

Hey haveacalc... i think you read that wrong. they said guns DONT kill people.

anyways... no matter how crazy tifreaks idea is... it is true.

The proof is in the old west (not hollywood). Everyone was allowed any gun they wanted, and historically all those "bank roberies' are fake. Compared to our time, we have so much more crime then they did, and mostly cus when there was a 'bad guy' the whole town lifted their pitch forks and guns and took control of the situation. But there are just too many crazy people and not enough who care for the commom stranger. people just dont care about each other anymore.

No, my post was to be critical of ryantmer for disagreeing with Ti Freak's last post. Note the question mark punctuating the end of the first sentence in my last post.

Exactly, I was agreeing with the fact that guns don't kill people, people kill people... I said "Not at all" because I am not at all one of those people who thinks guns kill people. Make sense now? ;)
