what is the best calc for playing games. This might sound kind of complicated but does it make any sense for someone in 8th grade going in to high school to get a TI 89 for games, algerbra et cetra. If he has the money?

you picked a VERY controvesrtial subject...if you want commonnatily...which means other people will have the same calc and you can share games easily...choose the TI-83+...the 83+ also has the most choices of games...

HOWEVER

the 68k calcs, TI-89, 92+, voyager...are better for higher grades...but have better grahpics...but you'll probably have to get all of your games off the interent...and there arn't as many games for them...

since you're in 8th grade...which was when i got my 83+, i'd say to get the 83+...because later when you're going to collage you can get a much better one...because in 6 years the 83+ will be outdated...get it? sooo...if you're in the middle to lower math classes..get the 83+...if you're in advanced...you might want to think about the 89...

Will the TI 89 be able to do most if not of all the mathmatical functions a TI 83 + can do

nikerocks32 - Yes, it can do anything the 83+ can, and evn better *music plays in background*. Everything allynfolksjr said is correct except the name of the last calc he mentioned, it's voyage not voyager.
