Yes there is but last I checked it chrashed on OS 2.09. It should work on 2.05. If you don't have that OS ask Ti and theyy should e-mail it to you. Go to ticalc.org to search for the file since I don;t remember its name.

A TSR, which stand for Terminate and Stay Resident (I think...), basically installs itself into the RAM of the calculator and monitors the AMS for certain events before it performs it's special task.

Yes, that's exactly what TSR is. I don't remember the name of the proggy tho. What do you need to launch on startup anyway? If you're just looking for a password, just look in ti89 assembly section on ticalc.org.

This seems to fit your needs, but I have never tried it. Get it here: http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/295/29535.html

the password program looks pritty cool except what I am trying to do is run a basic program that I made that saves mode settings to be recalled later but it is annoying to have to open it each time I want to recall a mode setting so I would like it to run each time the calc is turned on

Oops, sorry, i just kept reading posts about password programs, so i found that one, didn't keep to original post closely enough. There was a program called restore that will save all the settings in mode and restore them. It's called restore.

Something you could try, that's not compeltely automatic, is make a program called kbdprgm1, and whenever you hit and hold diamond, and then press 1, it will run that basic program with whatever is inside of it.
