is there any way to upgrade a ti 83+ to be able to play tankers
or is there a version of tankers that can be played on the ti-83+

no, you cannot upgrade an 83+ at all. The only TI calculator, in my knowledge, that can be upgraded is the TI-92, which could be upgraded to the 92+.

And I don't believe theres any Tanker type games for the TI-83+Series, sorry 'bout that.

You're right about the 92 but those things aren't being made anymore. Though, the card slot was a rather cool idea disregarding the card prices.
As with Tankers, its only for 89/89T/92+/Voyage 200 or 68K series of calcs. There will most likely be no port onto the 83 series not only because we don't have a z80 programmer but also because of processor and screen resolution limitations. If you wish to play Tankers consider getting a TI-89 or one of the other 68k calcs I've mentioned above. Sorry man.
