well, if you do some neat archiving/unarchiving tricks, you could probably get about a minute on the 83/84+ SE (because of the 1.5 meg flash rom).

and you might be able to get a whole 4 min song on there if you took out parts of it and slowed down the bitrate like heck, now that i think about it.

no you cant. 10 secs is stored as an 8xp which is then run from this sound shell. The 8xp of the song cant be more than ~23000 bytes. unless you wanted to rewrite the shell player so that you can run songs from rom... Lunchbox, thats one for you there.

Soundblast.
Also, 3fg, if you had multiple progs, you could archive/unarchive them and play them in order. you can't run things from the rom btw, that's why its a ROM (read only memory [but read only is only to a certain extent because you can archive progs, etc.]).

It's not ROM, it's EEPROM. :) (Electronically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory)

great... i found a file on TIcalc that lets you store and play whole songs, but you have to have the Doors shell, and it only works on 83. ti83+ release is supposed to happen soon...
