I was browsing my applications on my 83+SE and I found this application:(the one highlighted). I never loaded this on my calc and when I try to run it it says invalid. Also when I tried to delete it, it would not show up on my delete menu or on my device explorer on my computer. Any ideas what this might be and what can I do about it?

um...probably just an error. Probably loaded an app that wasn't right and like had something wrong in the code...But I don't recommend opening it...uh did u look around in the TI-Connect part of it? Well what you could do, is send everything but that program to your computer. Then delete all the memory, reset it all, then load everythign back on. :). That SHOULD do the trick...

Yup, sounds like a corrupt or incompatible app. Look at the app uninstall menu in your memory manager to see if it'd let you uninstall this app. Otherwise, you'll have to reset flash and like John said above reload everything back.

You could run an assembly program to delete it, but that would require a custom-bult prog...

I would do a full backup then a full reset... Trying to delete that "app" will in all likelyhood make matters worse.

Andy's right. Sometimes, apps are stupid and they don't like to work with you, so when you go and try to delete direcly on your calc, it just shuts down and you can't do anything. It'll probably come up with a Memory: 1: Exit screen thingy, and you're kinda stuck in that until you pull out the batts.

Hmm, this reminds me of a phenomenon going on at my school. Many of the Ti-83+s (both the school's and the students') have been suddenly ending up with a bunch of corrupt variables. For instance, in Stats we go to a test thing where you input a bunch of stuff and it's all already filled with completel garbage and gibberish using characters I didn't know existed, and when you change one it updates the rest and gets all upset about what you seem to have entered and then crashes and the only way to fix it is a reset. Perhaps there is a bug in the most recent OS?

if it is an OS bug, that would explain why the calcs at my school havent got it... they are old 83+'s and the OS hasnt been updated at all...

it sounds a little like what happened to me after using graph3, omnicalc, and symbolic at the same time... somehow it hit a glitch and messed up all my characters... everything was messed up all weird like...

i had variable switching glitches. for a little while, I say: Randint(1,9)-> and then when i hit ener, it goes to like a number above a million. I reset, same thign happened. After I killed the bateries in the back, er took em all out and reset my memory, it was better...stupid glitches. And why do the TI-84+ calc's crash when they get to the section of my games that ask for Names? like the part where it goes:
New High Score!
Name:
it alwasy crashes there!

I believe theere is a glitch in 1.18, cause this never happened on any of the older versions. It only happened to me when I was screwing around in assembly, and usually when I was trying to store to user variables. I'd sometimes get the recursive U variable that would take up about 11k bytes of archive or it would mod a program and make it take up all the free ram. I wish I knew how to solve the problem...

well the thing about my school's calcs is that they didnt have any apps at all on them, or any programs, except one or two dumb BASIC programs that don't do anything.
