Edit
I was trying to play Tetris and Ztetris for the 83+, but the screen was all distorted and what not on my calc with OS 1.17, but when I transferred the files to a calc with 1.16, it played fine. Is there a major bug or something with 1.17?

Does that calculator work with 1.16 or 1.18?

Also, wasn't 1.17 just on a small number of first-run calcs (ie, no upgrade file)? And weren't these the calcs with the buggy LCD?

My first suggestion would be downgrading to 1.16 or upgrading to 1.18. If that doesn't fix it, you have a glitch LCD controller calc, which needs a fixed version of fastcopy to work right -- and that's really only available in MirageOS 1.13, which is (still) in beta.

You might want to check out the MirageOS forum at Detached Solutions.

I hope that helps you some.

Well, my 1.17 calc is only a year old, it was part of a special that staples was running (the blue and green 83+s). I just know that it works well with 1.16, but I dont have a calc with 1.18. The games also do not work on my 84+, which has 2.26?

Ohh, it's one of those. Yeah, I have a Blue one, to replace the old Black one that might have, erm, died. I don't think there was a problem with mine, but I upgraded to 1.18 after I dumped the ROM. No problems, but of course, I haven't see it for a matter of months now.

I am told that 1.17 is a rare os version... is that true? I don't use it all that often, and right now I am using my 83+ with 1.16 to test games...

They never released it for download from TI's website, so yes, it is rather hard to find.

I don't think there is a 2.26... I think they went right from 2.22 or 2.21 or whatever to 2.30. I could be wrong, though.

Edit
Well, I didn't have my 84+ with me when I made the post, so I was unsure.

I also noticed that there are alot of games that claim to work on Ion, but all they do is reset the ram...

i think you're right, cuz i have 2.30 (despite everything i know about avoiding the most recent tech, i do it anyway), and i went from 2.21 to 2.30... dunno why...
