Yes, the ti83+/SE and ti84+/SE are FULLY, %100 COMPATABLE (except for a few things like that the 84 has a clock). So yes, you can.

That's probably a computer side error... Reboot and/or close all other programs and/or buy more RAM and/or stop using Windows ME (if you are).
