I've started an adventure game for the 83 and 84, its an RPG this is the plot line:

Your an average person who needs a job. You go to be an assistant of
AL, a bigshot in your small town. you are a little nosey and you discover a deep secrit. AL (your boss) and the mayor of your small town are ailians. They came from thier planet to
recruit ppl to fight in their war. They are offering 3 million dollars a
year! 2 planets are at war! so, you join the fight and are taken to
battle, But when an Monster gobbles up the entire battle feild,
you are left traped inside the foreign monster, eatin alive. Your new
peers are dying from a misterious desease, that strangely doesn't
affect you (maybee because you're the only human.) Now you must battle
to save yourself your peers, your boss, your mayor, and your planet.

Tell me thats not the best story line youve ever read

Notes:
The planet is called Cienos
The people you fight for are Cienen
No guns work on the planet because of dark magic, so you fight midevil style
Nothing electronic works inside the Cienos atmoshere. From your ship
(bus) you are transfered to a dragon)
You are put into the rank of infantry
No sheilds were left so you only have a sword

Iv'e startedthe begining and so far you can play right up to where you leave Earth. The entire thing is in basic, but I used an asm program called Codex (ever heard of it, its pretty cool) I also used a program called omnicalc to move sprites around. My friend says I should use xlib (does andy one understand me) but i say onmicalc is faster at making the sprites and it has more features (like ratical simplifiers and memory backups)

So what should i use? should i simply alter all real lines of text to the xlibs real(1 or use omnicalcs real(20

If you have game sugestions please post here also (im working on a website)

Edit
The story sounds pretty cool...

And by what I have heard, Xlib is the way to go, though I myself refuse to use it. (I have bad luck with apps it seems) Ask around on Omnimaga, there are several programmers there that use it alot. :)

Ugh, the storyline is soooooooooooooo complex, I had to read it twice to understand it. Hopefully it'll clear up in the future. This game sounds like it has potential. What will the gameplay be like?

armed with my calculator the syntax for omnicalc and xlib after my math exam (which i'm not allowed to use my graphing calc on) i will "port" it from omnicalc to xlib i also wrote the animation for the fight program... the game play is using sprites and the home screen for text i played the demo and it is ok... i am sure track and i will be be able to improve this game. also note to all the other RPG we were making has now ben canceled due to un optimised code... ps: matrixes=big games :)

Sorry if it was a little hard to follow it was long and i typed really fast, so some things could be confusing. when iget around to it i will type up a much more detailed readme file, and post that on our websight. (i am working with coffman runner) Coffman Runner convinced me to swich to Xlib, and for now i will, unless i get anymorepeople saying i should use omnicalc, pleae your oppinions are greatly appreciated, even if you don't completely understand.

As far as the game-play goes, your a person and there is a map. It is devided in screens 6 by 11 and each of those boxes are 8 by 10 pixals. you movearound in a... Pokemon like style, you can visit houses, talk to people and complete missions, all in the first level of your hometown. Then you move to space, where the movement is the same, but you fight people, in a turn based style, which so far thanks to Coffman runner has pretty cool graphics.

Thants the gameply so far. If you have any sugestions I would be more than happpy to listen
Thanks all!

I asked about it a couple of months ago, and I thought that was the answer, but I could be mistaken.
