I just bought a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition calculator and, of course, I wanted to put games on it. So I connected the calculator to my computer, installed it with the cd that came with it, and everytime I try to transfer a game, it says my device cannot be found. Any suggestions?

theres your problem... did you read the directions? The directions specifically state that the CD must be installed before the calc is EVER connected to the comp. You must now uninstall the cd and reinstall, and if that doesnt work, reinstall the drivers.

I do not comprehend what you mean by "uninstall the CD". That makes no sense.

Ignore what LiK said. Here's what you do. Plug the calculator in and turn it on. Go to Start->Control Panel. Open Administrative Tools, then Computer Management. Click Device Manager in the left pane. Find the calculator in the list (it should have a yellow ! icon and be visible immediately, but it may be hidden under Other Devices or USB Devices -- there's not much in Device Manager so it shouldn't take more than a minute to find). Double-click it. Go to the Driver tab and click Reinstall Driver or Upgrade Driver (whatever it is, I don't have a Windows machine handy to look). Let it search for the driver by itself; it should find it. Let it go through and then you should be able to use TI Connect. If it doesn't work, let me know and I'll try to figure something out.

I experienced this same problem for some time. When you plug in your calc, does it say that drivers for it were not found?

If this is the case, insert the CD, and in the window where it told you that Windows couldn't find drivers, there should be an option to find drivers on a disk. Select the CD and the drivers for your calc will install.

I plugged in my calculator before I installed the software. Now when I plug my calc in it just says "Found new hardware: TI Educational handheld device" and installs the drivers automatically.

by "uninstall the CD" i mean the hardware that came from the CD, smarty. It says in the directions to reinstall incase of a mishap with the installation. Dont ignore me, for i have had this problem alot and i fix it everytime. Dont get a brain surgeon to fix a broken leg, andy.
and your long paragraph is exactly what i said: reinstall the drivers.
@3fg: you also use MAC.

I do? I'm fairly certain that the only Mac I've used in the past 5 months is an old G3 running 0S 8 that doesn't even have a USB port on it.

Make sure you plug in the calculator all the way too. TI's have a notorious habit (at least in my experience) of feeling plugged in when they really aren't.
